From the factory, McLarens are pretty quiet for what they are. The turbos are doing a lot, but most of the sound gets recirculated back into the intake, so you barely hear anything.
These adapters just change that behavior.
Instead of routing the pressure back in, they vent it to atmosphere. So when you lift off the throttle, you get that noticeable turbo dump sound instead of nothing.
It’s not subtle—but that’s kind of the point.
It doesn’t make the car faster. It doesn’t change performance. All it does is make the car more engaging to drive because you can actually hear what’s going on.
On Spider cars, it’s a bigger difference. With the top down, the sound is a lot more noticeable, and it adds to the whole experience more than you’d expect.
