VTT Billet Crankcase Vacuum Relief Valve
Set a controlled maximum crankcase-vacuum level in a sealed external PCV system. The VTT relief valve uses removable calibration shims so the opening point can be matched to the engine and PCV configuration.
Direct Modular Connection
The valve uses -10 ORB threads and screws directly into a compatible VTT modular PCV component or VTT modular billet valve-cover port.
Vacuum Settings
- 4 shims: Opens at approximately 18 inHg
- 3 shims: Opens at approximately 16 inHg
- 2 shims: Opens at approximately 14 inHg
- 1 shim: Opens at approximately 12 inHg
- 0 shims: Opens at approximately 10 inHg
BMW N54 Guidance
For BMW N54 applications, VTT generally recommends a 10–14 inHg setting. Higher crankcase vacuum can produce seal noise or pull air past engine seals. Confirm the actual vacuum level with a gauge and adjust the system as required.
Installation
Install the valve in an accessible upright or application-appropriate location, verify the O-ring seal, and recheck crankcase vacuum through the full operating range. The relief valve is one component of a properly designed PCV system and does not replace adequate crankcase flow capacity.
