VTT/Turbosmart Audi DAZA/DNWA Dual-Port Internal Wastegate Actuator

A VTT-specific Turbosmart dual-port actuator for supported stock-footprint DAZA and DNWA turbochargers. Pressure can be applied to both sides of the diaphragm, allowing a light mechanical spring to retain a low minimum boost level while a properly configured control system supplies higher commanded boost.

Control and Calibration Requirements

A compatible three- or four-port MAC valve, correct hose routing, and calibration changes are required. Spring combinations set mechanical cracking pressure; the boost-control system must be configured and tested by an experienced calibrator. Verify actuator travel, preload, flapper seating, and fail-safe operation before applying boost.

Turbocharger Stress Notice

Holding the wastegate closed against elevated exhaust backpressure can increase top-end boost and power, but it also increases turbine-system stress and may shorten turbocharger life. Monitor backpressure, shaft speed where available, air-fuel ratio, exhaust temperature, knock, and boost control.
