VTT Billet BMW N54/N55/S55 Crank-Seal Guard

Help protect the engine from one of the most damaging consequences of an accessory-belt failure. The VTT guard covers the vulnerable area ahead of the front crank seal, reducing the chance that belt material can be drawn into the engine and oil pan.

Why It Matters

On N54, N55, and S55 engines, a failed or displaced serpentine belt can be pulled behind the crank damper and forced through the front seal. Belt debris can then obstruct the oil pickup and cause oil starvation or require major oil-pan service.

One-Piece Billet Construction

• CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum
• One-piece design with no welded mounting tabs
• Black anodized finish for corrosion resistance

• VTT billet crank-seal guard
• Two extended grade 12.9 mounting bolts
• Two stainless-steel washers

Available Packages

Choose the seal guard by itself or a package with the applicable N54 or N55 crank-bolt capture. Because the crank damper must already be removed, installing a compatible crank-bolt capture at the same time can reduce duplicated labor.

Installation and Maintenance

The guard is additional protection—not a substitute for correcting oil leaks, pulley misalignment, failed tensioners, worn belts, or damaged accessory components. Install using the correct BMW crank-damper service and torque procedures, then verify belt alignment and clearance.
